Camille J. Mackler, Co-Founder & Co-CEO
Camille Mackler is a thought leader, strategist, and legal expert on the intersection of migration, national security, foreign policy, and human rights. She has written and spoken extensively on global and local immigration issues and has been on the frontlines of numerous migration crises over the past two decades.
Ms. Mackler played a key role in responding to the Muslim Travel Ban, reuniting families separated at the border, and coordinating efforts to evacuate Afghan allies after the Taliban takeover. More recently, she has worked on addressing the arrival of asylum seekers in New York City. Her work emphasizes strengthening women’s leadership and ensuring diverse voices are central to policy discussions.
At the local level, Ms. Mackler helped draft and introduce New York’s first-in-the-nation state-based right to counsel bill for immigrants facing deportation. She has been instrumental in increasing New York’s investment in immigration legal services from $10 million in 2013 to over $100 million today. She also co-led a session on implementing the LA Declaration at the 2023 Cities Summit of the Americas.
She is also the founder of The Other 54 Strategies, a strategy and advisory firm tackling global challenges, and the CEO of Immigrant ARC, a nonprofit dedicated to improving immigrant New Yorkers’ access to justice. She is a Visiting Senior Fellow on Immigration at the Truman Center for National Policy, a 2024 92Y Women inPower Fellow, and a City & State 2024 Trailblazer in Law.
Ms. Mackler has testified before Congress, the New York State Legislature, and the NYC Council, and has argued cases before U.S. Federal Courts of Appeals. She is a graduate of Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service and New York Law School.
